Description

The Animal Disease course will introduce students to common large and small animal diseases, their diagnosis, treatment, and prevention. The diseases most commonly seen in Northwest New Mexico will be stressed, as well as diseases of universal importance. A review of the diseases of each animal species will be presented. The goals of the course is to familiarize students with the most sprevalent diseases and their treatment. Lecture will be supplemented with the techniques, diagnostics, and treatment protocols on actual cases presented to the hospital. Students will have an opportunity to experience hands-on learning, so class participation is extremely important, Prerequisites: VET 104 and 106.
