Description
Current social issues pertaining to gender, politics and leadership will be addressed in this course. Topics that will be explored include: It is more common to see women as candidates for Navajo leadership, which counters the theory that asserts women as Navajo leader based on the Creatio Stories is forbidden. What is the contemporary thinking of Navajo people about this cultural rule? How can it be made workable to satisfy the needs of all Navajo people? What are some of the other gender related concepts that affect the contemporary Navajo reaction to its Western structured politics and leadership? Offered: Spring.
