Description
The objective of this course is to teach students to 1) implement 1, 2 and 3-dimensional finite element methods, 2) model physical problems using an isoparametric formulation and 3) understand and solve convergence problems. Multiple finite element formulations will be implemented in Python or C++ and used to solve basic problems in continuum mechanics. Specific problems concerning stress, vibration and fluid flow will all be considered. Prerequisite: ME 356
