Description
This course will introduce students to different methods of translation including cultural,. oral, literary, and philosophical theories. Components of the class will include transcription and translation of oral stories and interviews; adaption of literary texts; and dubbing of film, television, and media. Students will translate or transcribe from a second language, such as Dine, Indigenous, or any world language, into English or vice versa, and analyze and compare published translate texts and peer-review translations/transcriptions in progress. Prerequisite: ENGL 2310
