Description

This course is a survey of ethnic literature featuring African, Asian, Native American, and Latin writers. Themes that will be covered include cultural identification, celebrations and rituals, the role of an oral tradition and its transmission and transformation in written works, stylistic innovations, the use of language, and explore writers as individuals and members of a community. This course may be taken to fulfill the general education Humanities requirement. This course may not be offered every semester.
