Description

This course provides background in the anatomy and physiology of animals. The course covers the structure and function of each body system, including skeletal, muscular, circulatory, integumentary, respiratory, cardiovascular, digestive, urogenital, reproductive, pregnancy, development, lactation, basic physiology principles. Metabolism, digestion, acid-base balance, immunity, and unique characteristics of common domestic species. Applied laboratory experiences are included. Prerequisites: BIOL 2110C, CHEM 1217C, ENGL 1110, or 1120, MATH 1220, NAVA 1110 or higher, and VET 090. Students must earn 75% or better to advance to the next level of courses in the major.
