Description
This course is an advanced workshop for students who have mastered the fundamentals of creative writing in order to continue a concentration on a specific genre or subgenre of fiction, poetry, scripts, or creative nonfiction. The classwork will focus strongly on discussion and revision, with peer feedback across genres. Formal workshop critiques are combined with writing exercises to refine craft, individual responses to published authors within specified genres, and some exploration of sophisticated theory. Students will be acquainted with the processes of publishing in print and electronic forms. Prerequisites: ENGL 301, ENGL 302,
ENGL 303, and ENGL 306.
